The Holy Grail – Eye Shadow Primer

Hello boys and gals! I have been out of the loop as school and work has been hectic! I am excited to tell you all (drum roll please!) that I have found some new employment which is back in the beauty industry! I am super excited as it is at a Cosmetic Surgery and Skin Care Center which is going to be an amazing learning experience and more new things to blog about. I have been there about a week and it has been great so far, lots of learning!Thank_Me_Later_full_size_grande

I also wanted to do a little product review on my new fave make up product. I am excited to share what I think may be the most amazing eye shadow primer ever! I am not really big on primer more so because it never works, I have tried a MAC primer and one by Jane Iredale and they just didn’t do the trick. I was subscribed to IPSY for a while and hoarded a bunch of samples which I am still trying to work my way through and one of the products I started using a month ago turned into my absolute favourite, the Continue reading

How to Create the Perfect Pouty Red Lip

Red Lip Perfection

I love a great red lipstick, finding your perfect shade can be a challenge but once you get it your hooked! I am currently obsessing over the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella – Scarlet. I actually stumbled on it when I got it as a sample with my Sephora purchase about a year ago and have worn it ever since. When hunting for your perfect shade expect to spend a couple hours in your favourite make-up store trying and swiping. After the end of your test day your lips will be stained silly and overly wiped but you will be walking out with your new trademark red!

Now when it comes time to try to get that perfect pout here are a few tips from someone who went through school making a mess, but after all that trial and error here are a few of my secrets to get that perfect pout. Continue reading

Fresh Face Friday – Juvena Skin Energy Moisture Cream

Juvena-Skin-Energy-Moisture-Cream-Rich-36346_2

I have had one of the busiest work weeks in a long time and having a long weekend at the end is definitely something to look forward to! My hubby is away in Asia for the next month for work and as much as I would love to stroll the bustling streets of Singapore with him, this weekend calls for pj’s and some serious potty training. My tot is almost there but needs one more weekend learning the ropes in undies. After he is in bed I will be doing what I love most, at home mini facial and a pedi of course. I recently raved about my new Continue reading

Finding your passion

So I started this blog to share my love for all things beauty. I used to be an esthetician and have since left that world and now work in retail sales; I am also in school finishing my degree in Forensic Science. As you can see I get bored quickly and keep moving from one thing to another. In my professional career I worked in the beauty industry for the longest period of time, 7 years. Although my husband will probably kill me as I say this since I keep flip flopping with what I want to do, the further away I go from the beauty industry the more I miss it and wish I could go back. I love it and have the urge to go back, now it isn’t the most sustainable career as it does have its ups and downs and getting a clientele to keep you booked year round takes time. I also don’t think I could go back to working in a traditional day spa. I am craving to open my own little beauty lounge. It sounds great in my head and all things will go smoothly, but it can be very scary to leave a full time salaried job and not to mention trying to source the funds to open a business. Glasses on and pencil in my mouth pondering what opportunities I can grasp. So many decisions to make in life and I only wish I could do everything sometimes! Does anyone else find themselves still trying to figure out what they truly want to do?

Thoughts for the day.

Facial Friday – Ipsy Glam Bag

Eep! I am so excited I finally got my first Ipsy Glam Bag. From the moment I saw that hot pink bubble mailer I knew something amazing was tucked inside and I could not contain myself. I know I am crazy but I have waited 6 weeks for this thing! So for Canadian Residents after our crappy exchange rate and well because we live in Canada it ends up costing us $19.85, this will fluctuate from month to month based on our current conversion rates.

Now for the November Glam Bag the value of the products was $48 so it was still a great deal! The products you get are customized to you, initially when you sign up for Ipsy you take a quiz about your fave brands, look, products etc. Then each month your bag will be customized to your likes.

Here is what was inside my glam bag!

Fresh Face Friday – Taming the Turkey Neck

Turkey Neck

So in light of Thanksgiving, I thought this week we could talk about combating the Turkey Neck. I know I am such a jokester! But really, we all neglect our neck and decollete, it is part of our face too! We don’t want a flawless youthful face with a not so pretty neck. It only takes an extra minute to take care of your decollete so why not! Remember your skin runs head to toe!

Here are my favourite go to products and tips on taking care of that delicate skin of yours! Continue reading

Foundation – Splurge or Save?

I love a good make-up kit, but using a $100 foundation everyday for work just doesn’t seem feasible or budget friendly to me. So I have opted to use a drugstore foundation for everyday wear and a Splurge for weekend date nights and events. It is so much lighter on your pocket and once you find an amazing drugstore brand you are all set.

Splurge or Save

Here is my budget vs. splurge: Continue reading

Tinted Moisturizer

I am on the hunt for a tinted moisturizer. I like the ease of it, and the coverage itTarte2 has. I used to use Glo Minerals Sheer Tint and really liked it, but it is so hard to find, and when I ran out I needed something then and there not in 2 – 3 weeks, so buying online was a no. With make-up essentials I prefer to shop local versus online. I like to use the tinted moisturizer when I am in a rush in the morning or after the gym and heading to work. It’s an easy product to apply on the go and it feels nice and light post workout/shower.
